چکیده

The process of urbanisation contributes to the growth waste generation and causes environmental pollution. One most common plastic is polyethylene terephthalate (PET). This often used as mixed material in construction. use life-cycle assessment (LCA) a possible tool assess sustainability product long term. After analysing latest literature, it was found that study PET building materials one sustainable alternatives for reduction. research improvement alternative through LCA. A gate-to-gate approach adopted this research. LCA Calculations production eco-bricks were carried out accordance with ISO 14044. GaBi software identify quantify impacts within system boundaries. calculations based on EDIP 2003 method assessing impacts. results show epoxy resin raw eco-tiles has an impact ozone formation (OF) 118 m2 UES*ppm*hours, which due chemicals adhesives eco-bricks. Eco-bricks made have better compressive strength than other materials. addition adhesive can increase by 50%. Despite advantages using eco-bricks, there are many uncertainties about their impact. It be concluded particles does not pose excessive risks mixtures lead significant reduction profile.

Fatigue behaviour of nanoclay reinforced epoxy resin composites

Nanoparticle filling is a feasible way to increase the mechanical properties of polymer matrices. Abundant research work has been published in the last number of years concerning the enhancement of the mechanical properties of nanoparticle filled polymers, but only a reduced number of studies have been done focusing on the fatigue behaviour. This work analyses the influence of nanoclay reinforc...

Flame Retardant Luffa Fiber Reinforced Composites with Epoxy Resin Matrices

In current years composites have concerned considerable importance as a potential operational material. Low cost, light weights, high specific modulus, renewability, and biodegradability are the most basic & common attractive features of composites that make them useful for industrial applications. Luffacylindrical locally called as “sponge-gourd” is one such natural resource whose potential as...

Eco-Friendly Natural Filler Based Epoxy Composites

In this study, acrylated soybean oil (AESO) was used as modifying agent for DGEBF-type epoxy resin (ER). AESO was used as a co-matrix in 50 wt % with ER. Composites with ecofriendly natural fillers-banana bark and seashell were prepared. MNA was used as a hardener. Effect of banana peel (BP) and seashell (SSh) fillers on mechanical properties, such as tensile strength, elongation at break, and ...

Life cycle energy analysis of fiber-reinforced composites

Life cycle assessment is a technique to assess environmental aspects associated with a product or process by identifying energy, materials, and emissions over its life cycle. The energy analysis includes four stages of a life cycle: material production phase, manufacturing phase, use phase, and end-of-life phase. In this study, the life cycle energy of fiber-reinforced composites manufactured b...

R&D on glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin composites for superconducting Tokamak

The glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin composites play an important role in superconducting Tokamak, which are used to insulate the metal components, such as superconducting winding, cooling pipes, metal electrodes and so on. For the components made of metal and glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin composites, thermal shrinkage leads to non-ignorable thermal stress, therefore, much attention shou...
